Couples Therapy
Do you seem to endlessly repeat the same patterns of arguing with your partner? Are you struggling to resolve conflict and connect with each other? My extensive training in couples therapy can aid you as you strive to improve communication and deepen connection.
At our first session, I’ll get to know each of you individually and learn about your relationship and dynamic as a couple. I’ll also share how I work and what you can expect from therapy. Then we’ll talk about your goals for therapy and develop a plan to move forward.
Using a technique called Restoration Therapy, I’ll help you and your partner identify the negative patterns of interaction that keep you getting stuck. Then, we can work as a team to replace these negative behaviors with healthier ways of relating.
During our sessions,
I create a safe space where both of you can be honest with each other. My approach is collaborative: I’ll share my thoughts about what you say and get feedback from both of you.
I never take sides with one partner over another. My role is to keep our discussions focused on achieving our shared goal: improving your relationship. If I believe that individual therapy would be helpful, I’m happy to refer one or both of you to appropriate therapists who can help support our work in couples therapy.
